NEW GRN VIDEO: Long Road to Recovery
As the nation's attention moves on, coastal restoration and recovery becomes the focus of the BP response, even as more oil shows up in coastal areas. The White House has created the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Taskforce, chaired by EPA Administrator (and NOLA native) Lisa Jackson. Yesterday, GRN attended the inagural meeting of the Taskforce, held in Pensacola, FL. Not much was done, and it's apparent that the Taskforce will need a more significant commitment of funds in order to actually jump start any restoration.
Our video tackles these ideas and themes, and featured interviews with Rosina Phillipe (Atakapa Ishak Tribe, Grand Bayou Community, LA), Rick Steiner (professor of marine ecology and oil spill expert, Anchorage, AL), Robert Wiygul (environmental attorney, Biloxi, MS), Patty Whitney (community organizer, BISCO, Thibodaux, LA), and Paul Nelson (Commercial fisherman & president, South Bay Communities Alliance, Coden, AL). Featuring music from Helen Gillet, the New Orleans Bingo! Show, and Clint Maedgen. Narrated by Brian Denzer and Tim Robbins.
Written and directed by Aaron Viles, Edited by Gino Kalkanoglu (NOLA Image Works) and Jared Serigné. Produced by Jared Serigné.
Ongoing series by the Gulf Restoration Network documenting the environmental and community impacts of the BP disaster
Created with the generous support of the Vitalogy Foundation and the Wallace Global Fund.
Aaron Viles is an advisor to the Gulf Coast Fund as well as the campaign director of the Gulf Restoration Network, a 16 year-old environmental advocacy group with an exclusive focus on the health of the Gulf of Mexico.

Oil Spill Cleanup - The Right Way
BioWorld is an Environmental Cleanup company that is fully prepared to assist in large scale oil spill cleanup as a First Response Technology.
We are awaiting contact from the EPA OSC and the Oil Company Executive in charge to procure our firm to get the oil spill cleaned up safely, rapidly and efficiently. They will be making this wise decision to hire us.
We performed cleanup on the shore, beaches and marsh after The Prestige tanker sank in 2002 off the coast of Spain. Our firm is waiting for the 16 U.S. Government Agencies to agree to use The BioWorld Bioremediation Method in the Gulf of Mexico cleanup. We have performed numerous cleanups of all sizes all around the globe.
Our companies are BioWorld Products Inc, a Woman Owned SBA Small Business and BioWorld Engineering Inc, a Service Disabled Veteran and Minority Owned HUBZone business located in central California. 559.651.2042 http://www.BioWorldUSA.com
We use a Green Technology – The BioWorld Bioremediation Method is B-59 EPA-NCP Listed that is very effective for open water spills or in the rivers fast moving water or on shoreline, land, beach, marsh, mangroves, ponds or in groundwater.
BioWorld has developed the products for First Response or in old spills. Some of the information at EPA has the bioremediation as a polishing tool which is out-dated information. BioWorld can perform immediately after a spill occurs. Easily apply with plane, copter, boat, tractor, small sprayers.
BioWorld uses a specialized Enhancement Liquid to provide microbes with the proper nutrients required to reproduce and thrive in the contaminated areas.
The Enhancement Liquid is combined at time of application with the augmentation using BioWorld Hydrocarbon Degrading Microbes. Even the indigenous microbes benefit from the BioWorld Enhancement and speed up the breakdown of the hydrocarbon molecules.
BioWorld takes the Natural Attenuation process to a whole new range of capabilities where oil spill cleanup is accomplished is weeks vs. years when left without the BioWorld applications.
Our innovative formulation maximizes the best attributes and enzyme producing functions of all available microbes in the BioWorld treated areas to rapidly biodegrade the oily wastes into simple fatty acids, CO2 and H2O.
(There is NOT a need for nitrogen or phosphorus as the study proves – which is a rudimentary bioremediation that is not practical for large oil spills regarding application logistics and the high cost).
Property owners affected by oil spills will be thankful to have the safe BioWorld products applied to their property and keep the land value up without removing soil sent to hazardous disposal sites.
Even the farm land can be fully restored to previous production levels or higher after the BioWorld treatments because our companies understand soil microbiology and have assisted hundreds of growers produce better crops.
The sooner BioWorld begins on an oil spill, the sooner the mess is cleaned up and the local communities can get back to normal. The fish, shrimp, oysters and other sea life will restore faster when BioWorld is used.
